Research Interests of Bioactive Group
  • Interaction of bioactive compounds with human gut microflora, specifically with Lactic Acid Bacteria
  • Biological activity (antimicrobial, anticancer, antioxidant) & Bioavailability and Compositional analysis of bioactive compounds (HPLC, GC-MS)
  • Development of in vitro human gut model system in controlled batch fermentor system
  • Analysis of human gut microbiota by molecular techniques (qPCR, FISH)
  • Biofilm formation on food contact surfaces and food products/ inhibition by natural compounds
